    WHAT SIZES DO YOU HAVE AND HOW MUCH DO THEY COST ?

    HOW DO I CALCULATE HOW MUCH STORAGE SPACE TO RENT ?

    You can use our storage calculator on our website or our expert managers can assist you in determining the right size. Just give us a brief description of what will be stored and we’ll help you determine how much space is needed.

    It is easy to rent a storage unit with Blue Box; all you need to do is follow the 5 simple steps below:

    WHEN CAN I GET TO MY BELONGINGS ?

     

    Our blue Box center is open 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

    Our office hours are: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.On Saturday 8am-2pm.

    WHAT KIND OF SECURITY DO YOU OFFER ?

     

    Our storage is equipped by CCTV, alarms, fire and intruder alarms fitted throughout the facility, security guards 24 hours and each person will get a pin code and also a card and/or use a fingerprint access. It is essential that you have your belongings insured. However, you are responsible for securing your unit with your own padlock.

    CAN I CHANGE THE SIZE OF MY STORAGE UNIT ?

    Yes as long as you are not tie up with a long period contract. If you ever need more or less space, speak with the office staff at the facility +(230) 283 3665 and they will help find the right space for you. In any case, you can easily move for a larger size.

    ARE THE UNITS CLEAN, DRY AND FREE OF PESTS ?

    Storage units are regularly maintained to ensure they are kept dry and secure. Every effort is made to provide a pest-free environment and this includes regular preventative fumigation.

    WHAT ITEMS CANNOT BE STORED ?

    You cannot store any hazardous, toxic, or illegal items. Also, no food or perishable items can be stored in our spaces. If in doubt of what can be stored in our spaces, please ask the Blue Box manager. Examples of items that cannot be stored are: Ammunitions, gasoline, paint, paint thinner, propane, food, plants, fireworks, etc…

    WHEN CAN I MOVE IN ?

    If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime during office hours.

    SHOULD I RESERVE MY STORAGE SPACE ?

    You don’t have to reserve your storage unit, but it’s a good idea if you want to guarantee your space. You can reserve as far in advance as you like. Reservations are done at our store, online or by phone. It is kept for three days.

    DO I HAVE TO PAY WHEN MAKING RESERVATION ?

    No. Reserving a storage unit is totally free. You don’t have to pay anything when making a reservation.

    CAN I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER MAKING A RESERVATION ?

    Absolutely ! You can always change your unit size or type or even cancel your reservation.

    Simply call +(230) 283 3665 and one of our storage specialists will sort it out for you.

    CAN SOMEONE ELSE ACCESS MY SPACE ?

    Only with written authority from you, we will allow someone else to access your space and so long as they also have a key.

    HOW HIGH ARE YOUR STORAGE ROOMS ?

    All units of Blue Box are around 3 meters in height.

    WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I FORGOT MY ACCESS CODE OR LOST THE KEY TO MY LOCK ?

    You should contact immediately our staff directly during office hours to let them know and to discuss on the way forward.

Billing

    WHAT TYPE OF DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE IN ORDER TO RENT A SPACE ?

    We require a government-issued photo ID, driver’s license, or passport. For business hire: Written approval from a company director, a Business Registration Number (BRN) and a VAT number. For more information, please contact us.

    HOW MUCH NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN WHEN I MOVE OUT ?

    The lease requires one month written notice (by email or post) in which you specify your references and the box number, and please ensure that we have received and acknowledged the information. Don’t forget to take your lock with you and leave the unit broom-swept.

    WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT ?

    We are able to accept cash and cheques. You can also settle a standing order which wiil make your life easier.

    WHAT IF I AM LATE MAKING MY PAYMENT?

    For every 15-day period that your payment is late, we charge an MUR 500 late payment fee. Please make sure to pay your rent on time.

    DO I REQUIRE INSURANCE ON MY STORED GOODS ?

    You are responsible for the things you are storing at Blue Box Self-Storage and insurance for your stored belongings is recommanded. You are free to purchase the insurance of your choice, but if you need any help, we could direct you to our partner Quamtum which has a specific insurance fitted for your goods stored in Blue Box.

    WHAT DOES THE INSURANCE COVER ?

    The insurance provided by Quantum covers fire, floods, burglary and cyclones, but does not cover loss or damage caused by pests or vermin, spillage of any material from any other space or climatic conditions such as rust or mildew.

    WHAT ARE THE TERMS OF THE STORAGE LEASE ?

    Our rental agreement is on a month-to-month basis. You can stay as long as you wish. When it comes time to vacate your storage unit, you will need to notify the office staff at the facility, in writing 15 days in advance. On the day of your vacate you will need to sign a form to officially terminate your lease.

    DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT ?

    Yes, there is a refundable deposit, which is equal to one month’s rent.  When you leave Blue Box Self Storage, providing you have given us a 15 days written notice and that you leave your room in the same condition as when you started your rental period, your deposit will be returned to you.

    IS THERE AN ADMINISTRATION FEE ?

    Yes, there is a one-time administration fee of Rs 200. If you are a returning customer, you don’t have to pay that fee again.

Packing

    DO YOU SELL LOCKS, PACKING AND MOVING SUPPLIES ?

    We offer a variety of locks, packing and moving supplies. You do not need to be a storage
    customer to buy supplies from us.

    Absolutely ! Blue Box has a specialized sales counter: moving boxes, adhesive tapes, protective covers, moving covers, … a whole range of professional quality accessories available; even if you do not rent any box.

    DO YOU OFFER PACKAGING AND REMOVAL SERVICES ?

    We can refer you to moving companies that offer reasonable rates. We regret that we cannot offer any warranties, implied or actual, regarding services provided by a third party. We also offer packaging , loading and unloading services within the Blue Box Center at rates available from our team + (230) 283 3665.

    DO YOU HAVE TROLLEYS OR HAND PALLETS AVAILABLE ?

    Blue Box provides trolleys, hand trucks and even pallet jacks for free customer’s use. A ladder is also available if required.

    DOES BLUE BOX PROVIDE LOCKS ?

    No but you may purchase a new, sealed lock at the store.
